National Cup- Glory Caps an Outstanding Season for Repton Cricket
Repton U17 cricketers crowned national champions
Repton's U17 boys have been crowned national champions after beating Harrow School in the National Cup Final, the highlight of a period of sustained success across the school's cricket programme.
Batting first, Repton posted 238 for 6 from their 35 overs, built around an innings of 109 from Omaris K. A disciplined bowling performance and sharp work in the field then restricted Harrow to 207, securing a 31 run victory and Repton's fourteenth national title of the 2025/26 academic year.
The route to the Final:
- First Round: Repton hosted St Edward's School, Oxford, posting 278 from their 30 overs before restricting the visitors to 166/9, recording a comfortable 112-run victory. Omaris K led the way with the bat, scoring a blistering 89 from only 30 deliveries.
- Round Two saw Repton travel to a strongly tipped Radley College side, who posted 209/5 from their 30 overs. We responded emphatically, reaching the target in just 19.3 overs for the loss of just a single wicket. Aveen D anchored the chase superbly with a composed 67 run innings.
- The Third Round brought another away fixture, this time against Rugby School. After electing to bat, we were dismissed for a below-par 150 in 33.3 overs. However, what followed was one of the bowling performances of the season, as Rugby were bowled out for just 128 in 32.4 overs. Haroon K led the attack superbly, returning figures of 2 for 15 from his seven overs.
The U15A girls also reached Finals Day in the 100-ball competition, finishing fourth in a national field.
The U15A boys came within a whisker of a title of their own, reaching the National T20 Finals Day after a 22 run semi-final win over Stowe. The final went to the last over before Merchant Taylors' School edged ahead, leaving Repton as National Runners-Up.
Three age group sides competing on national finals days in a single season is a measure of depth rather than of one strong year group, and reflects the strength of the programme across both the boys' and girls' game.
