REPTON'S U19 NETBALL TEAM CROWNED COUNTY CHAMPIONS
Repton’s Girls’ 1st Netball Team won all six matches at the U19 county tournament to secure the title and qualify for the Regional Round in January.
The result reflects the work of an 11-player squad whose members each commit 3.5 hours a week to training alongside their fixtures, completing approximately 25 hours this half-term. Competition for places is strong, with several players also earning selection for Nottingham Forest and Loughborough Lightning.
The final match against QEGS brought a 12–8 win, completing an exciting tournament and confirming Repton as county champions. Ella M R was named Player of the Tournament in recognition of her performances throughout the competition.
Laura Turner, Head of Netball, identifies the depth of the squad and its approach to training and competition as key strengths. All 11 players have the ability to contribute on court, while support from the bench ensures the whole squad remains involved in each performance. That collective commitment, alongside their technical ability and work rate, proved valuable throughout the tournament.
Fast-paced and physical, netball demands precise execution and quick decisions under pressure. The county title provides a strong foundation as Repton prepare for Round 3 of the SNS Cup after half-term, followed by the Regional Netball Tournament in January.
